That Sandwich Shop - Salt Lake

I was thinking about making this Sandwich blog just for fun. One of the things I enjoy is traveling to all of the different sandwich shops around Utah and abroad. I have been ranking the sandwich joints I've been to over time.

To keep this experiment fair, at each sandwich place I order a hot pastrami and cheese sandwich, or something similar.

The most recent Sandwich shop I went to was That Sandwich Shop. It's located just off North Temple, about 2 miles west of Temple Square.

The Google Review for this joint was right around 4.7 Stars. People tended to recommend the cheese steak, especially their chicken/steak cheesesteak combo. My Beautiful fiance got the steak cheese steak, which I ended up liking better than my Pastrami Sandwich. I recommend it.

It is a little difficult to find this place because it is adjacent to abandoned suites and has a very small sign by the door, with nothing overhead.

The decor in this little joint is fantastic. There is a strong Star Wars theme, along with some raisins, different bands, and a few random things. There are lots of little trinkets to look at. There are also little games on each of the tables.

The menu is a piece of paper in the front by the register. There are only a few employees, but they seem to be paying attention and took our order pretty quickly.

The food took a little bit to arrive. The 6 " sandwiches cost around $7 and 10 " sandwiches are around $10.
The sandwiches were both huge. Even the 6 inch one. The bread is very wide, and the sandwiches are stacked high. I only ate half of my sandwich, and part of my fiances.

The bread is soft, not toasted, and pretty good overall- but not exceptional.

The meat and other toppings are where this sandwich really shines. The meat was warm, and the vegetables and cheese were fresh. The flavor was very good. The only place my sandwich was lacking was with the sauce; it was just mustard and other basic condiments.

Overall, I currently have this shop ranked #2. It's far away from where I live, so I'm not sure when I will return.

That's all for today.
